The New Horizon

A new world explored with a rational view

Another Flip-flop from Pakistan on Mumbai

I could not believe my eyes when I saw the news on Times website that Pakistan has officially accepted that Ajmal Kasab, the lone survivor of the terrorist gang, is a Pakistani citizen. I saw the Dawn News clips also. It was so strange. BBC report says

“After weeks of refusing to confirm the allegations, the foreign ministry said: “We have just been informed… that Ajmal Kasab is a Pakistani national.””

The Dawn news clips from timesnowonline –

However, the ecstasy did not last long. Within hours they tracked back on the news and sacked the NSA for leaking the news. It’s interesting that the reasons provided for dismissing him –

“Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani has dismissed his national security adviser, Mehmood Ali Durrani, amid the tensions with India. … A prime ministerial statement said Mr Durrani had been sacked “for his irresponsible behaviour for not taking the prime minister and other stakeholders into confidence, and a lack of co-ordination on matters of national security”. “

What is “irresponsible” in Pakistan, is very much cheered across the border. Once he is sacked, the denial is back. The Washington Post notes :

“In an interview with CNN, Mahmud Ali Durrani said there appeared to be proof that all 10 gunmen had Pakistani roots. Officials from the Foreign and Information ministries confirmed that assertion, but the Foreign Ministry later retracted its statement, and within hours, government officials and national TV channels reported that Durrani, a former intelligence chief, had been dismissed by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani.”

Last but not the least, none of the Pakistani newspapers covered this story on today’s edition of their newspaper. I am still waiting to see whether they at all publish it.

Update

News media in Pakistan did publish it – link for Daily Times news.

  1. I think Pakistan just wants to remain in denial. The fact is Pakistan is in the middle of low intensity civil war with terrorists who have systematically taken over the country. Of course parts of the government have helped the terrorists as rest of the government remain in denial and let the terrorists win the civil war.

  2. Whether or not kasab is Pakistani, there is still a master mind behind and it should not be ignored, it is stupid that the indian government is focusing on kasab and ignoring the evidence of this conspiracy, how can it be possible that the following could be true:

    1. The orange string worn on his wrist is a Hindu religious tradition, not Muslim.
    2. Murder of the anti-terror chief. He was after the most powerful underground hindu leader: – arun gawli.
    3. The terrorists bought three days worth of food and many bottles of liquor just prior the beginning of the attack.
    4. The few small boats would not carry all the men, arms and ammunition and explosives used? (Mathematically impossible)
    5. If total terrorist were only 4 in taj mahal hotel and 3 were killed on the last day, then who were killed every time we heard seize was over.
    6. How did the supermen from the dingy boats after traveling for several hours on sea arrive in Mumbai without being detected?
7 What was the “Blue Water Navy” of the “Superpower” doing?
8 Why could the Indian Coast Guard not prevent the arrival of two boats?
9 How did the supermen from the two boats walk around with Kalashnikov on the shore without being detected?
    10. Why did the Nariman House order 100 chickens? Were they expecting the terrorists to eat there?

  3. 11 How was the head of the Security Forces assassinated (Hemant Karkare, the brave ATS chief )? Hemant Karkare was wearing a helmet and a bullet proof vest. The head of the Security Forces was instrumental in fingering the Hinduvata extremists in the Samjhota Express bombing and others.
12 Why were helicopters used to storm a two story building of the Nariman House? The noise of the chopper would have given the terrorists a clear indication of the arrival of the SWAT team. The way they fell on the rooftop thud, thud, the terrorists had enough time to execute their evil plans.
13 There were European officials who had just arrived in one hotel and after ten minutes they left, just before the attacks!
14 The Deccan Mujahideen had also claimed responsibility for bombings in Jaipur in May. Why is the Indian Government and the world media feigning ignorance on this?
    15. How did they know where to go?
16 How many terrorists were there? Did they number 20 as Maharashtra Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh told a press conference on Thursday? Or did they number many more? If two or three terrorists attacked the CST, how many terrorists were present at the Tajand Trident? Did the CST terrorists drop a grenade/explosive device at Dockyard Road on the way to the station? Or was someone else responsible for that act of terror which claimed three lives? http://morris108.wordpress.com/2008/11/29/mumbai-indians-asking-more-questions-indian-web-site/
17 How were they transported from the shore to the Oberoi?
18 How did they survive for 72 hours? What was their source of nutrition?
19 According to all reports they really knew their way around the Oberoi, Taj and the Nariman House. How could they be so familiar with the hotels if they had just arrived on boats into Mumbai.

  5. I think you are too late to comment of these. Pakistan Govt has already accepted that Kasav and others were from Pakistan. They also accepted that majority of the conspiracy was hatched on Pakistan soil …
